On this day 8 years ago I waved goodbye to my career at the Reading Fightin' Phils. I started with the team at the age of 15 when I took my first job as a "Diamond Girl." In 2000 I completed my internship, was hired full time and began what was an amazing adventure.
Throughout my career, before every game I was always the one who walked out the ceremonial first pitches. These pitches ranged from 2 year old's celebrating birthdays and company CEO's retiring to special guests like George "The Animal" Steele eating the leather off of the ball just before throwing it..........just to name a few.
On April 17th 2015, I walked myself out to the mound and my oldest son threw out a first pitch to commemorate my "retirement" from the team. When I waved goodbye to by life as Fightins' AGM working 71 home games each season I was waving hello to being a Sports Mama with an even more hectic sports schedule. I am forever grateful for both both of these amazing roles!!!
